Awards Management	Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE
Jury	A group of persons appointed by Awards Management to determine the nominees and winners
Participant	Any eligible institution/organization that participates by submitting an online application for the Awards
Rules & regulations	These Rules & Regulations governing the Awards, as may be amended from time to time

These rules & regulations, are applicable to and govern the “Zak Awards for Excellence in Façade Design & Engineering 2025” organized and conducted by Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE
By participating in the awards, the participant agrees to abide by and be bound by these rules
These Rules & Regulations may be modified without any prior notification. Participants are advised to regularly review these rules at the website (www.zakawards.com/anz). If there is any disagreement with any of the rules & regulations and any amendments thereto, the participant must not participate in the awards.

Awards Objective

The aim of Zak Awards for Excellence in Façade Design & Engineering is to recognize developers, architects, contractors, consultants and related industry professionals/firms who have made exemplary contributions to the industry through best in class design & construction.

Awards Category & Eligibility Criteria

Category	Eligibility Criteria
Excellence in Façade Design - Architect	Open To: Architectural Firms based in Australia & New Zealand. Project Location: Projects based in Australia and New Zealand only. Project Completion: Nominated project must be completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibiltiy window). Nomination Limit: One project per firm. Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organising committee, if required for validation.
Excellence in Façade Execution	Open To: Façade Contractors based in Australia & New Zealand. Project Completion: Nominated project must be completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibility window). Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required. Nomination Limit: One project per firm.
Excellence in Façade Innovation - Product	Open To: Product Manufacturers, System Designers, or any innovator based anywhere. Project Usage: Product or concept should have been used in a project, or is slated to be used in a future project based in Australia or New Zealand. Innovation Standard: Product must be innovative, game-changing, and tailored for Australian & New Zealand standards. Verification: Additional information may be requested for verification purposes.
Excellence in Façade Innovation-Project	Open To: Architectural Firms, Façade Engineering Firms, Developers, Contractors based anywhere. Project Location: Project must be located in Australia or New Zealand. Project Timeline: Nominated project must have been completed on or after 1st January 2020, or should be in conceptualisation, design or execution stage, with planned completion within the next 5 years. Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required. Innovation Standard: The project must be innovative, game-changing, and tailored for design challenges in Australia & New Zealand. Verification: Additional information may be requested for verification purposes.
Excellence in Façade Sustainability	Open To: Developers, Architectural Firms, Façade Engineering Firms, Façade Contractors, Sustainability Consultants based in Australia & New Zealand. Joint Entries: Joint entries are welcome (Architect + Developer or Architect + Sustainability Consultant, etc). Project Completion: Nominated project must have been completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibility window). Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required.
Façade Engineering Firm of the Year – Consultant	Open To: Façade Engineering Firms based in Australia and New Zealand. Project Nomination Criteria: The firm must nominate one project showcasing technical expertise and engineering skill completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibiltiy window). Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required. Nomination Limit: One project per firm.
Façade Project of the Year - Developer/Contractor	Open To: Developers, Investors, and Main Contractors based in Australia & New Zealand. Project Completion: Projects must be finalized between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibility window). Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required. Nomination Limit: One project per firm. Entry Option: This entry can also be submitted into other award categories if it meets their criteria.
Adaptive Reuse / Refurbishment Project of the Year	Open To: Architectural firms, Developer, Facade Engineering firms based in Australia & New Zealand. Project Location : Nominated project must be in the ANZ region. Project Completion: Nominated project must have been completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibility window) Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is Optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required. Nomination Limit: One project per firm.
The Fifth Façade: Roofing Project of the Year	Open To: Architectural firms, roofing contractors & roofing cosultants based in Australia & New Zealand. Joint Entries : Joint entries are welcome ( Architect + roofing contractor /consultant). Project Location: Nominated project must be based in Australia or New Zealand. Project Completion: Nominated project must have been completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibility window). Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organisers, if required.
Outstanding Application of Glass	Open To: Any firm, based anywhere, involved in design, engineering, fabrication, or installation of glass. Joint Entries: Joint entries only, with a minimum of two firms applying jointly. Project Location: Nominated project must be located in Australia & New Zealand. Project Completion: Nominated project must have been completed between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024 (24 month eligibility window). Submission Requirement: Project Completion Certificate is optional but may be requested by the organising committee, if required.
Rising Façade Engineer of the Year	Open To: Façade engineers working in Australia & New Zealand for Architectural Firms, Façade Engineering firms or Main Contractors. Nomination: Façade Consultants, Architects, and Façade Contractors can nominate one façade engineer per firm. Age Limit: Nominee should be born on or after January 1, 1990. Submission: Firm must make the entry on behalf of the nominee. Nomination Limit: Maximum one nominee per firm. Nominator: The submission must be made by a senior representive from the firm (nominator) on behalf of the nominee.
Outstanding Contribution to the Façade Industry	This is an honorary award given at the Jury’s discretion.
Remarkable Façade Bringing Paradigm Shift	This is an honorary award given at the Jury’s discretion.

Additional Eligibility Criteria

The final eligibility of the applicants will be subject to the discretion and approval of the awards management and jury
The award categories may be changed/modified/split/merged/increased or cancelled by the awards management and/or jury based on the number of entries received in any category, and the quality of the entries. The decision in this regard will be final and non-contestable. The awards management will not entertain any queries in this regard

All questions must be answered. Incomplete nominations will not be considered
In case you don’t have an answer for any question, please write ‘NA’ for that question
Mandatory supporting documents are to be provided as required. Applications without mandatory supporting documents will not be considered for the awards
The final eligibility of the nominees is subject to the discretion and approval of the awards management and jury
Applications will be accepted only if adhered to the terms and conditions of the Award’s as available on the website: www.zakawards.com/anz
Information provided by the applicants will be confidential and will be used only for the limited purpose of evaluating the entry to these Awards

Call for Entries & Participation

The call for nominations for the awards will be announced in one or more media platforms and/or by direct communication with potential participants, and that shall be construed to be adequate notice for call for nominations.
Entries will be accepted in English language only
In any case, if the nominee also applies with the same initiative as submitted by their nominator, then only the application submitted by the nominator directly will be accepted
If multiple partners make a joint submission for a category, then they should agree amongst themselves who would be the rightful owner of the award trophy. The award’s management or any of its partners will not be involved in deciding the same
The jury has the right to reclassify nominations from one category to another or reject a nomination, at its discretion. This is not contestable in any manner
The Jury may decide to add nominees in the category to maintain high standards of participation. The decision of the Jury in this regard will be final and non-contestable. The Awards management will not entertain any queries in this regard

Receipt of Nominations

Participation in the awards in any manner will be construed as an acceptance to the rules and regulations stated herein.
A participant can apply for the awards by logging on to the website www.zakawards.com and completing the submission form along with the supporting documents directly on the website.
A participant can apply for the “Zak Awards for Excellence in Façade Design & Engineering 2025” by logging on to the website www.zakawards.com/anz and completing the submission form.
Last date for receiving completed submission forms is 18.00 AEST on June 16th 2025.
Awards management will not be responsible for application forms that are received in an incorrect format/late/corrupt etc.

Completeness of Nominations/Disqualification

All mandatory fields of the nomination form need to be complete in all respects; else it may be disqualified from participation.
Nominations will be accepted in English language only.
Participants can upload or send the supporting documents (screenshots, photographs, references, project plan, drawings and sectional details, demos etc.) in the “Attachments” section.
If at any time, during the awards process or post the awards, any information provided by any participant is found to be incorrect in any manner, the participant will be disqualified from the awards.
Disqualification of entries is at the discretion of the jury & awards management, on a case by case basis.

Additional Information

Participants may be contacted for any additional information or/and conduct field visit to verify the information provided. Such information sourced from the participants will become part of the original application.
Awards management has the right to ask for documentary proof of information. If such a request is made and the participant does not comply within 5 working days from the date the request is made, the participant may be disqualified from participation in the awards.
Information provided by the participant will be confidential and will be used only for the limited purpose of evaluating the participant’s entry to these awards.
Awards management or team appointed by awards management will try to contact the participant on best effort basis by any means deemed appropriate.
In the event it is not possible to contact any participant to obtain information on them, interview them, etc. such participant may be disqualified from further participation.
The participant hereby irrevocably authorizes the awards management to use the data gathered during and/or the Awards in respect of the participants. This shall be the property of Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE and Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE shall be entitled to use the same in its communications including marketing promotions and advertisements along with/without Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE brand. Awards management shall not be liable in any manner for any mishap, accident, injury or damages etc. of whatsoever nature, caused to the participants during the Awards. Further, Awards Management shall not be liable in any manner for any loss, damage, theft, or any other mishap caused during the Awards.

Shortlisting Nominees From Applications Received

An initial screening jury will evaluate all entries received through the call for entry process from which finalists per category would be selected.
Jury reserves the right to re-categorize any entry, which in their view is incorrectly categorized.
Jury may disqualify entries if the information provided while submitting the entry is found or believed to be incorrect in any manner.
In the event no entries in a category are found to be worthy of inclusion in the awards by the jury, the award category will be cancelled.
Jury’s decision on the short-listing and disqualifications will be final and binding on all participants.
Applicants of shortlisted entries will be contacted to inform them of the selection of their entries, and for further information.

Verification

Awards management will contact the applicant, if required, for any clarifications needed for the information provided in the application form.
Awards Management will make the best efforts possible to contact the applicants, but shall not be responsible if the person does not participate in or does not agree to the conduct of the verification, or are not contactable.
In the event of it not being possible to conduct a verification of the applicant, for any reason beyond its control, awards management may, at its discretion, disqualify participation or continue in such other manner as deemed fit.

Winner Determination

The final jury will score the finalists based on the application form and other supporting documents.
In case a jury member has been involved in any capacity on a nominated project, he/she will be recused from judging that particular entry.
There could be one or more winners in each award category, at the discretion of the final jury.
The determination of who should receive an award for any award category rests with the final jury.
The jury’s decision is final and binding on all applicants.
The jury may also decide, in order to maintain high standards of these awards, that there could be no winner in a particular category.
Applicants may be contacted for any additional information or/and a field visit to verify the information provided.

Validity and Correctness of Information

If at any time, including after the conclusion of any of the award ceremonies, any information provided by any Participant(s), is found to be incorrect in any manner, then the participant will be liable to be disqualified and/or return the award. Awards management may also take penal action against the participant for providing false information to participate in the awards.
Determination of whether information provided as fair and accurate rests with the jury and awards management.

Timelines

The Awards will follow the following timelines:*

Efforts will be made to adhere to the defined timelines. However, the defined timelines are subject to change based on unforeseen circumstances
Awards management and its sub-contractors shall not be held accountable/liable for any disruptions/stoppages/interruptions or cancellation of the awards or its ceremony or any part of its processes or public voting on account of any factors beyond its control.

*Timelines may be revised at the discretion of the awards management.

Additional Terms

Participants agree that the participant is legally capable of entering and, if selected, participating in the awards and agree to the rules.

Participant understands and agrees that merely participating in this Awards does not entitle the participant to a prize or to any other form of consideration.
Participant warrants and represents to the awards management that all information including any communications, software, photos, text, video, graphics, music, sounds, images and other material submitted or recorded in any manner by the Participant or the partners of awards management including awards management for consideration for the awards are solely owned by the awards management and do not infringe upon any other individual or organizational rights (including, without limitation, intellectual property rights). Participant shall be completely responsible for handling any infringement or alleged infringement and shall indemnify the Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE, and the awards management from any claims, costs or damages from infringement or alleged infringement of the logo or trademark or the defence of a claim or any costs payable thereof.
Participant must enter the Awards at their own will and the awards management are not in any way obligated or liable for any loss or costs that the participant may suffer or incur and nothing is payable to the participants for participating in the awards or any event prior to or following the awards.
Participants for the purpose of entering the awards, automatically grants Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE a royalty-free, irrevocable, worldwide, non-transferable, non-exclusive right and license to use and display such entry, for participation in the Awards, and any intellectual property in relation to and arising out of such participation in the Awards and footage thereof, which shall include trade publications, press releases, electronic posting to the website, the Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE website in any display format selected by Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE during the awards or use by Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE as it deems fit.
The awards management reserves the right to, at its discretion, withdraw or amend or add to the rules & regulations of the awards at any time, with prospective or retrospective effect, and does not take responsibility for any loss or damage that any individual or organization may suffer as a result of participating or attempting to participate in the awards, the awards being withdrawn or its rules amended.
Should a participant wish to withdraw from the awards, kindly inform awards management in writing at any time up to two weeks prior to the final awards ceremony.
All disputes relating to or arising out of the awards shall be subject to the laws of the UAE, and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of competent jurisdiction of Dubai, UAE.

The participants indemnify Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE, its employees, officers, contractors, partner or other persons used by them in relation to this awards and hold them harmless against any loss, claim, demands, costs, damages, judgments, expenses or liability (including legal costs) arising out of or in connection with any or all claims, that may be brought against the awards management by any third party in connection with the participants participation in or winning the awards, which is inconsistent with any of the warranties and representations made by the participants, or due to breach of these rules and shall reimburse Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE for any loss, costs, expense, or damage to which said indemnity applies. Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE shall give the participant prompt written notice of any claim or actions covered by this indemnity, and the participant shall have the right, at its own expense, to participate in any such action.
Decision of awards management on all matters is final and binding on all participants and no correspondence will be entertained on the same.
In the event these rules & regulations do not cover any question or complaint in relation to the awards, the same will be concluded on by the awards management (for all other issues) or an independent body or legal team as appointed by the awards management and deemed necessary.
The participant agrees to give full consent unconditionally for Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE to share any information provided by the participant with agencies working with them with regard to the program, its recording and broadcasting and related activities including agencies involved with Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE.
The decision of Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE in relation to the interpretation of any of these rules & regulations shall be final and binding on the participants.

Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE shall endeavour to the best of its ability to respond thereto.

Website

The website is only an informational website www.zakawards.com/anz for the Awards. Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE is not liable or responsible for any action or decision taken by Participant or anyone acting on participant’s behalf or under participant employment or under contract with participant. Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE shall not be under any obligation to participant and participant shall have no obligation or rights in relation to the awards and shall have no claims whatsoever against the Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE relating to the selection process or the running of the awards.
Zak Exhibitions & Conferences FZE shall not be responsible for:

Any delivery, failures relating to the registration or uploading videos/presentations;
Any spam generated messages as result of participant accessing the website;
Awards Management not receiving or rejecting any data;
Any lost, late or misdirected computer transmission or network, electronic failures of any kind or any failure to receive entries owing to transmission failures or due to any technical reasons and
Other conditions/situations or failures beyond its control.

Disclaimers

Awards management has no obligation to screen the entry material in advance, and is not responsible for monitoring entries for the purpose of preventing violation of intellectual property ownership rights, or violations of any law, rule or regulation. If awards management is notified of submissions or materials that may not conform to the rules, it may investigate the allegation and determine in good faith and in its sole discretion whether to eliminate such an entry from consideration. The awards management has no liability or responsibility to participants or other users of the website for performance or non-performance of such activities.
